Marc-Antoine Barrois Ganymede

In 2019, the French fashion house Marc-Antoine Barrois released a new mineral perfume Ganymede, which became one of the most popular and discussed perfume hits of the last few years. Some people hate it, while others forget other perfumes after tasting it, it is surrounded by rumors and legends…

For the Marc-Antoine Barrois Ganymede launch, Marc-Antoine transformed the top floor of a building under construction above Gare Saint-Lazare into a glamorous venue with an exclusive and incredible view of Paris. True to her private identity, she arranged a very private and delightful dinner with perfumer Quentin Bish.

Ganymede’s popularity is so great that it was impossible to buy in 2022 due to demand exceeding supply. Back in 2016, perfume experts predicted a great future for mineral fragrances. And now this future has arrived! People are tired of heavy and sweet, similar flavors. Unusual compositions have become desirable, offering interesting and new experiences.

The perfume composition was created by Quentin Bish for Marc-Antoine Barois. This fragrance is inspired by Jupiter’s rocky moon, discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610, covered by salty oceans. It got its name from Greek mythology: Zeus liked a beautiful young man named Ganymede so much that he turned into an eagle and took him to Olympus. In order to be enchanted by the boy’s beauty, Zeus granted him eternal youth and immortality, and made the handsome man an honorary wine-bearer at the divine festivals.

Created by perfumer Quentin Bish, Ganymede also contains the suede notes that made B683 a classic. But this time the master has changed the usual codes to take us somewhere else, to a more sophisticated elegance. The leather notes are softer, gaining lightness and delicacy when combined with the scent of violets. The whole composition plays on contrasts and opposites. The notes respond to each other, carry on a constant conversation, draw a new scent map on your skin.

Ganymede perfume – is a complex aromatic composition, bright, citrusy and spicy-mineral, slightly salty, complemented by a warm, slightly metallic shade of saffron. The powdery suede note in the base accords gives the aroma an even deeper sound and makes it cosmic. Ganymede sounds great on both male and female; Exciting and unique. We can say with certainty that it will not lose its relevance for a long time and deserves to become a diamond in the collection of both ultra-modern perfume lovers and connoisseurs of classic perfumes.
